What to Expect
Results
Immediately after a lip blushing procedure, the lips will appear a lot darker in shade colour. As the lips heal, the colour will lighten considerably usually by 50% and the shade will soften to the colour chosen.
It may take up to 6 weeks for the lips to change into the final coloring. The membrane asks differently to skin and takes longer to heal.
You can resume wearing lipstick once lips are healed. Redness, swelling, tenderness, dryness are all common post treatment side effects are dissipated.
Healing and aftercare
First 24 hours you may experience some mild swelling and tenderness after a lip blushing procedure. At this stage, you could expect some tenderness, swelling, and intensified lip colour.
Some people may also experience minor bleeding or bruising. This may occur if the skin of the lips is thinner and closer to the vascular system. This will fade in 3 or 4 days.
People will see a much darker coloring of the lips for around 10 days before it fades to the intended color.
Your lips will feel very dry, flakey and swollen after the treatment. You will be required to apply healing lip ointment for 14 days or until no longer dry. This is a normal process.
However, you should note that it may take up to about 4 to 6 weeks for the deeper layers to completely heal and for the pigments to settle. This is the time when you'll see the final result of the procedure.
